Lamias are beautiful female creatures, with long hair and duck feet, who live in leafy forests on the banks of streams, ponds, lakes and rivers. Such is their beauty that they make humans fall in love with them, but they cannot marry them, at least not within a church, since they cannot tread on consecrated ground. If one night you are strolling near a stream running through a secluded forest, you may encounter one of them, sitting on the shore, combing her wonderful long hair with a gold comb.
